Halyard
The Frensi has a rope halyard (5mm diameter, 8m long) to raise and lower the rig. It goes round a pulley at the top of the halyard mount and then is tied to a metal eye on the upper boom. There is a clamcleat on the halyard mount to secure it once the sail is up. The clamcleat is side-facing which makes it easier to uncleat when you are on the water.
Gooseneck
The gooseneck is nine plastic "beads" with rope through the middle of them that go around the mast just below the Laser gooseneck fitting. The Frensi goosneck makes sure the Frensi boom stays close to the mast and can move up and down as needed.
Underneath the gooseneck, the rope ends in a pulley. The kicker/vang rope goes through the gooseneck pulley and back down to a cleat. As the kicker is pulled on, it not only pulls the boom down to tension the rig, but also tightens the gooseneck beads round the mast.
Kicking strap (vang)
The kicker is a clamcleat on a metal base that attaches to the Laser kicker fitting using a shackle. The rope from the kicker goes up and around the pulley under the gooseneck and back down into the cleat.
